The Columbia Pregnancy Center (CPC) vision began with Melanie Proctor in May 1985, and the first steering committee meeting with nine members from the First Congregational Church. It was apparent early on that a group had formed that could have an impact, and after five months of weekly meetings, we’d incorporated, elected a Board, and organized our first event – Walkathon Fundraiser.
Five months later, a location was found for our activities to settle and grow.
Since 1986, the center has gained monthly financial support from six local churches, and several others have provided occasional financial and volunteer support and promote our services.
We’re proud of our collaborations, and the network of support we have initiated.
